DECA is "AN ASSOCIATION OF MARKETING STUDENTS." It is an academic organization, not a club.
When do the DECA members meet?
Students who are enrolled in a Marketing class will meet during class. All other students will meet during common lunch on Thursday in room M207.
When and where are the contests?
The DECA district contest takes place in November at the Lory Student Center at CSU. The State DECA Conference is in February at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs.
What are the actual contests?
A specific list of events is available in the Marketing Department, or you may select "competitive events" on the DECA link provided below.
Are there fees for DECA?
Yes, Participation in DECA only is $35.00 for the 2020-2021 academic year. Participation in both DECA and FBLA is $50.00. Optional practice invitationals will require an additional registration fee. There are also costs for the State and National Conferences if students qualify. Fundraising opportunities are available to offset some of the travel costs for state and national qualifiers.
Are there any requirements to participate?
Students must be enrolled in a business, marketing, personal finance, or PaCE course during the 2018-2019 school year.
What are the Fundraisers?
Students may choose to enroll in King Soopers Community Rewards, work Snack Shack shifts, or help with the Silent Auction.
