Submissions were considered by judges who look for work that best exemplify originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision.

In 2018, there were approximately 6000 submitted works of art from 2200 students around Colorado. To win an award is a great honor and keeps them in the company of previous winners such as Richard Avedon, Truman Capote, Cy Twombly, Carolyn Forché, Stephen King, Kay Walking Stick, Zac Posen, Lena Dunham, Luis Jiménez, and Richard Linklater to name a few!

Their art will be on display at the History Colorado Center in Denver for the month of February. It’s worth the trip!
