Education: Bachelor of Science (Chemistry), additional coursework towards Masters in Computer Science.
Background: Born and raised in New Jersey. I discovered a passion for chemistry after having a wonderful chemistry teacher in high school (see, you do make a difference)! I earned my Chemistry degree at Fairliegh Dickinson University and worked for Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceutical for about 10 years. The first 5 years as an organic chemist in new drug development and then as a technical support supervisor in chemical manufacturing. It is there that I also discovered a talent for computers.
In 1987, my husband and I moved to Fort Collins with our young son. I decided to stay home and complete our family. Our second son was born shortly after. As the boy’s entered elementary school my focus turned toward technology in education. I began by volunteering lots of time in technology at their school and become the parent representative on the school technology team.
In 1994, we moved to Yankton, South Dakota. Over the next few years my voluntary involvement in technology in education became almost a full time job! I decided to pursue a graduate degree part time in computer science at the University of South Dakota. After completing 12 credits, working as a graduate assistant, raising a family, contract work for Mount Marty College, and still volunteering, I found out that another move was in our future. In the summer of 1998 we returned to Fort Collins.
In 1999 I began my career with PSD. I have worked at Shepardson Elementary, Poudre High School, Boltz Middle School and found my home at Fort Collins High School in January 2008. I am honored to be a Lambkin!
