David D. Miles, Director of Bands
A 1995 graduate of the old Fort Collins High School, David D. Miles has taught instrumental music for sixteen years. He directs the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Intermediate Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, Marching Band, Pep Band and various chamber ensembles.
Mr. Miles earned both a Bachelor of Music (Music Education) and a Masters of Music (Instrumental Conducting) from Colorado State University.
Mr. Miles has also taught at Thompson Valley High School, in Loveland, Colorado, Woodland Park High School in Woodland Park, Colorado,and Windsor Middle School in Windsor, Colorado before joining the staff at Fort Collins High School. This is Mr. Miles’ twelfth year as a member of the Lambkin staff.
As a trombonist, Mr. Miles has performed with the John Phillip Sousa National High School Honor Band, the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra, the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra and the Dallas Brass. He currently performs with the Fort Collins Wind Symphony under the direction of Dr. Richard Mayne as well as the the Colorado Brass Company.
David and his wife Amanda live in Fort Collins with their three sons, Elliot, Jacob and Spencer.
