English Language Development

The English Language Development (ELD) Department at Fort Collins High School welcomes emerging bilingual students from Newcomer Level 1 through Monitor 2. The picture below shows how students progress through our ELD program at FCHS. A printable version is included under Documents.

Newcomer Program: 

We are fortunate, at Fort Collins High School, to house one of the four locations within Poudre School District for Newcomer students. The Newcomer program is designed for students who have no previous experience (or very limited previous experience) with English. We currently have students from all over the world in our newcomer and ELD program here at FCHS. Languages represented include Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, and Vietnamese.
