About Me

Hello, Lambkins!  My name is Jason Cunningham and I am excited for my third year at Fort Collins High School and twelfth overall year of teaching.  Prior to teaching here, I graduated from CU Boulder and then taught in all secondary settings in the Estes Park School District for four years, Mead Middle School for one year, and Northridge High School in Greeley for four years.  Aside from the first six years of my life in New York and Texas, I have lived in Colorado the entire time; after 20 years in Estes Park, I lived in Loveland for one year before moving to Fort Collins with my wife six years ago.  Last year, I completed my master's degree in political science from the University of Illinois - Springfield

Here at FCHS, I am the yearbook advisor, a co-chair of the English department, and the teacher of PSD's very first Video Games as Literature course, which is my second baby.  I submitted a lengthy course proposal to get the class accepted at the district level, and I am hoping that it's a fantastic experience for all students.  I am always willing to help people out with any yearbook issues they may need to troubleshoot, so please reach out if you need help there.

I love my family!  My wife and I are so proud of our two-year-old Adira and love watching her learn.  We have two Chihuahuas named Dusty and Winnie and a Pomeranian named Kita.  With a little one at home, I don't often have a lot of time to myself, but I love hanging out with my daughter at the museum, pool, or one of the many parks in Fort Collins.  In the spare alone time I have, you'll most often catch me playing hockey or ice skating at EPIC, wandering around playing Pokemon Go, or playing Magic Arena on my phone.  Aside from that, I'm also really into Zelda and Pokemon video games, fantasy football, and non-stop podcasts.

All in all, I consider myself a man with eclectic tastes.  I like to connect with people on a variety of subjects, and I can find common ground on something with virtually anyone.  I am looking forward to getting to know all of you this year!
