TEACHER BIO
My name is Jon-Michael Willert and I teach Art courses here at Fort Collins High School, where I've been since 2010.
I grew up in a rural community in Northern Illinois where my younger brother and I spent most of our time exploring outdoors. I played ice hockey all over the Midwest. My whole family is originally from Chicago. After graduating from high school in Burlington, I went to Milwaukee School of Engineering and then Northern Illinois University to get my teaching certificate. My teaching endorsements are in Art Education K-12, Technical Education 6-12, Physical Education K-12, Elementary Education K-5, and Career and Technical Education in Visual Arts and STEM learning. I received my Master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado.
My wife, Jennie, and I moved from Illinois to Colorado in 2009. She is an artist as well. We have two dogs, Ava a long-haired chihuahua, and a pug named Vinny.
I love hiking, working out, fishing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, skiing, traveling, biking, motorcycles, gardening, trying new restaurants, listening to music, and attending concerts. I love spending time with friends and family. I love my job and love my students. Go Lambkins!
