Military Information & Career Exploration
Fort Collins High School is committed to helping students explore all postsecondary opportunities, including military service, college, career training, and other pathways.
Students interested in serving in the United States Armed Forces can explore the military branches, connect with recruiters, and learn about career opportunities and enlistment requirements using the resources below.
Military Branches & Recruiting Contacts
Students and families are encouraged to contact recruiters directly for information about eligibility, career opportunities, scholarships, training, and military service commitments.
ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP)
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is a FREE career planning resource designed to help high school students identify their strengths, discover career interests, and explore future opportunities.
Students do not need to be interested in military service to participate.
The program helps students better understand their abilities, interests, and work values while identifying career pathways that may be a good fit.
Career Exploration Resources
Students participating in the ASVAB CEP have access to:
- Aptitude Assessment – Identify academic and occupational strengths.
- Interest Inventory – Explore careers that align with personal interests.
- Work Values Activity – Discover important priorities and preferences in a future career.
- OCCU-Find Career Database – Research occupations, career requirements, and employment opportunities.
Following the assessment, students can participate in career exploration activities, review their results, and receive guidance to better understand their postsecondary options.
ASVAB & Graduation Readiness
A qualifying Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT) score of 31 or higher can satisfy Poudre School District's College and Career Academic Readiness Measure associated with graduation capstone requirements.
ASVAB results may also be used for military entrance purposes when students meet applicable eligibility requirements.
Student Privacy
Fort Collins High School participates in the ASVAB CEP as an Option 8 testing site.
Under Option 8, student scores are provided to the student and designated school representatives and are not automatically released to military recruiters.
Students interested in military service may choose to share eligible results with recruiters.
