Fort Collins High School social studies education involves the integrated study of the social sciences and humanities to promote civic competence through curriculum rooted in the Colorado Academic Standards. Our courses provide a coordinated, systematic study drawing upon such disciplines as anthropology, economics, geography, history, humanities, law, philosophy, political science, psychology, religion, and sociology. The primary purpose of social studies courses at FCHS is to engage our students with diverse content that challenges them to develop the ability to make informed and reasoned decisions for the public good as citizens of a culturally diverse, democratic society in an interdependent world.
